Ukraine’s FM arrives today on maiden visit to enhance bilateral ties

ISLAMABAD – Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, arrived in Islamabad today on an official two-day visit aimed at bolstering bilateral ties between Ukraine and Pakistan. This marks a historic milestone as it is the first ministerial visit from Ukraine since diplomatic relations were established between the two nations in 1993. Foreign Office Spokesperson, in a statement, emphasized that the visit seeks to foster stronger bilateral relations.

During his two-day stay, Foreign Minister Kuleba is scheduled to hold meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister and engage in comprehensive discussions with his Pakistani counterpart, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. The high-level talks are expected to focus on various areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment, agriculture, and higher education.

The relationship between Pakistan and Ukraine has been characterized by close and friendly ties, particularly in the aforementioned fields. Both countries have actively pursued trade and investment opportunities, facilitated agricultural cooperation, and promoted educational exchanges. The visit by Foreign Minister Kuleba is anticipated to further strengthen these existing ties and explore new avenues for collaboration.

The visit holds significant potential for enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Ukraine. As the two foreign ministers engage in detailed discussions, it is anticipated that key agreements and initiatives will be explored to deepen economic and diplomatic relations. The strengthening of bilateral ties is expected to benefit both nations, opening doors for increased trade and investment opportunities, as well as fostering cultural and educational exchanges.

The visit by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister to Pakistan symbolizes a renewed commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations. The diplomatic engagement is poised to pave the way for closer cooperation and set the stage for future collaborations across various sectors. Both foreign ministers are scheduled to address a joint stakeout at the Foreign Office today. Foreign Minister Kuleba will return to Ukraine on July 21 (Friday), concluding his two-day visit.
