ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian of Iran has arrived in Pakistan for his first bilateral visit to the country. During his visit, he is scheduled to hold talks with Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to discuss various aspects of bilateral relations and the emerging regional situation.
Additionally, Foreign Minister Abdollahian is expected to meet with the Prime Minister of Pakistan to exchange views on further strengthening the relationship between the two nations. Furthermore, he will also have discussions with the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Chairman of the Senate to explore parliamentary linkages between the two countries.
Prior to the Foreign Minister’s visit, a high-ranking delegation, including officials from the Ministries of Trade, Roads and Urban Development, Investment, Agriculture, and Energy, had engaged in preparatory meetings.
The visit presents an opportunity for both sides to deliberate on various aspects of their bilateral ties, with a particular focus on regional connectivity, energy cooperation, and economic and investment relations between Pakistan and Iran.
