Lahore (Bureau Report) Gas Theft Crack Dawn: 171 more gas connections were disconnected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, 244 under-billing cases were registered/processed and fines of more than 2.3 million were imposed. During the ongoing crackdown against gas theft in different areas of Abad, 171 more gas connections were disconnected, 244 under-billing cases will be registered/processed. Fines of more than 230 lakhs have been imposed on people involved in gas theft. Sui Northern Gas 16 domestic connections for illegal use of gas, 3 connections disconnected for use of compressors and 8 under-billing cases registered/processed, 13.07 million were also booked by the Regional Team in Bahawalpur. Taking action, 08 connections were disconnected and 9 under-billing cases were processed/registered and 1 FIR was also registered. In Mardan, the team disconnected 10 connections for illegal use of gas, while an amount of 0.68 million was also booked. In Multan, the regional team processed 74 under-billing cases besides disconnecting 11 for illegal usage and 02 for compressor usage and an amount of 0.24 million was also booked. 01 FIRs were also registered by Sui Northern Gas against meter tampering, direct consumption of gas, illegal 65 disconnection gas thefts in Peshawar and Kirk and fines of over 19 lakhs were imposed. In Gujjar-Anwala, the regional team conducted 05 disconnections on illegal usage, while 03 disconnections on compressor usage and 43 under-billing cases were registered/processed, amounting to 0.54 million was booked. 1 connection was disconnected during operations on illegal usage of gas in Gujarat . 04 connections were disconnected in Rawalpindi. In Faisalabad, regional team processed 02 and 38 under-billing cases for illegal use of meter tampering during crack dawn. And the team also booked an amount of 0.24 in under-billing cases during the operation.
