ISLAMABAD: In a startling development, Chief Officer of the Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (MCI) has initiated a formal inquiry into a viral video allegedly promoting a political party. The video, purportedly shared by Akhter Mehmood, Private Secretary to the Director of Emergency & Disaster Management (E&DM) at MCI, is said to be a clear violation of directives from the Election Commission of Pakistan.
To oversee the investigation, Rai Yasir Farhad, Director of Municipal Administration, MCI, has been appointed as the Inquiry Officer. The urgency of the matter is highlighted by the directive for the inquiry to be completed within five days. The focus is on providing concrete conclusions and pinpointing individuals responsible for the breach within the Directorate of Emergency & Disaster Management.
The Deputy Director (Admin, HR & Legal), (SYED HAMID ALI SHAH), emphasized the severity of the situation in a memo, enclosing a copy of the controversial video clip.
