TAXILA: Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role played by Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in bolstering both national security and the economy. The army Chief made this acknowledgment during his visit to the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) in Wah Cantt on Tuesday. “Path to national progress is defined by indigenous and local industries like POF Wah. We will continue to work for self-reliance and latest technology which is essential towards ensuring reliability and strengthening the defence of Pakistan.” COAS remarked- according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir conducted a thorough review of the products of arms and ammunition being manufactured at the POF- the largest state owned defense industrial complex producing a wide range of conventional arms and ammunitions according to international standards which was established in 1951.
During the visit, the COAS observed new ingeniously produced weapons that were locally designed and manufactured, undergoing tests and trials, as reported by ISPR. The Army Chief was also briefed on the production capabilities of the POF.
