ZURICH: In a notable event, the Pakistan Embassy in Bern, Switzerland, organized a networking dinner to honor Dr. Amjad Saqib, Chairman of the Akhuwat Foundation. The gathering was presided over by Pakistan Ambassador Amir Shouket, who is also the Honorary President of the Pakistani Professional Group in Switzerland.
The networking dinner saw a full turnout from both the Pakistani diaspora and the local community, with Miss Saima extending a warm welcome to recently appointed First Secretary guests at the Pakistan Embassy in Bern.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Shouket congratulated Dr. Amjad Saqib on his recent book and commended his contributions to Pakistan through institutions like Akhuwat University and Foundation. The Ambassador expressed gratitude for Dr. Amjad’s exceptional humanitarian work and emphasized the value of the Pakistani diaspora as a crucial asset that needs safeguarding.
Ambassador Shouket revealed ongoing efforts to attract investment to Pakistan, having engaged with various companies, and highlighted collaborations with Pakistani IT experts in Switzerland to harness their ideas for a prosperous Pakistan.
Dr. Amjad Saqib, in a presentation, elucidated the mission and structure of the Akhuwat Foundation and University, emphasizing their commitment to providing free education and housing for underprivileged children.
The event concluded with Dr. Amjad Saqib presenting honorary shields from Akhuwat to Ambassador Aamir Shaukat, Dr. Saeed, and Anjum Jura. Imran Muzammal, Coordinator of the Pakistani Professionals Switzerland Group, summed up the occasion with optimism, stating, ‘Pakistan is a hope that we all together can make Pakistan strong.’
