RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Navy has made a notable presence at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition (DIMDEX 24) held in Doha, Qatar, showcasing its maritime capabilities and commitment to regional security.
The participation of Pakistan Navy’s ships, PNS Tabuk and PNS Khalid, in the exhibition underscores Pakistan’s dedication to fostering international cooperation in the defense sector. Both ships, equipped with advanced technology and weaponry, attracted considerable attention from visitors and delegates.
Upon their arrival at Hamad Port, the Pakistan Navy contingent was warmly greeted by Qatari Navy officials, reflecting the strong bond between the two countries. The exchange of pleasantries and professional discussions during the reception highlighted the mutual respect and cooperation shared by Pakistan and Qatar in the maritime domain.
Throughout the exhibition, the Pakistani delegation actively engaged in bilateral meetings with military representatives from Qatar and other participating nations. These meetings served as platforms to discuss various aspects of defense cooperation, including joint training exercises, information sharing, and technology transfer.
Of particular significance were the visits of senior naval officers, including the Commander of the Russian Navy and the Turkish Fleet Commander, to PNS Tabuk. These interactions not only provided an opportunity to showcase Pakistan Navy’s capabilities but also facilitated discussions on potential areas of collaboration between Pakistan and other naval powers.
Commenting on Pakistan Navy’s participation, Rear Admiral Mohammad Imran, Head of the Pakistani delegation, emphasized the importance of such exhibitions in promoting maritime security and interoperability among regional navies. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability in the region and expressed gratitude for the warm reception received in Qatar.
The successful participation of Pakistan Navy in DIMDEX 24 is expected to further enhance bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar, paving the way for increased collaboration in maritime defense and security initiatives. As both countries continue to navigate common challenges in the maritime domain, their partnership is poised to contribute positively to regional stability and prosperity.
