Upon arrival, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was warmly received by Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, and was accorded a guard of honour. As a mark of respect for the nation’s fallen heroes, the Prime Minister laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. During discussions, the Prime Minister and Cabinet members were briefed on the prevailing security environment, including the spectrum of threats and ongoing counter-terrorism operations. They commended the professionalism and sacrifices of the Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and assured full support from the government in ensuring the operational readiness of the Armed Forces.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif emphasized Pakistan’s destiny for progress and highlighted the pivotal role of the Armed Forces in ensuring the country’s peaceful rise. He pledged to provide all necessary resources to maintain the readiness of the military.
In response, COAS General Syed Asim Munir expressed gratitude for the Prime Minister’s visit and reiterated the Army’s commitment to meeting national expectations and supporting the government in addressing security challenges.
