Administrator of Metropolitan Corporation, Rana Muhammad Waqas Anwar, stated that all emergency response centers are fully operational and all roads, drains, and water channels are being closely monitored. There are no obstacles in the flow of water in the drains, he added.
CDA staff and machinery are present in the field, monitoring water channels to ensure there are no blockages. Rescue teams have been deployed to affected areas and are working with all necessary operational equipment. Additionally, CDA teams are actively draining water from roads.
Rana Muhammad Waqas emphasized special monitoring in rural areas and slums of Islamabad. He added that the staff’s duties in low-lying areas have been intensified to maintain the flow of water in streams and rivers. Normal traffic is flowing on all roads in the city.
Citizens can contact the CDA helpline at 16 and emergency services at 1122 for assistance. Rana Muhammad Waqas confirmed that staff leave has been canceled and shifts have been distributed accordingly to ensure continuous support.
