On the directives of Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) is actively enforcing laws and ensuring the best service and protection of citizens across the province, including Lahore. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, instructed the PHP force to make their field patrolling in beat areas more effective. He emphasized taking priority actions to prevent law violations, curb crimes, and assist and guide citizens. He issued these instructions while reviewing the weekly performance of the Punjab Highway Patrol today.

Punjab Highway Patrol Headquarters released the performance report for the previous week. According to the details, during the past week, PHP teams checked 613,818 individuals through the E-Police Post app on highways. During these checks, 145 proclaimed offenders and court absconders were arrested. PHP teams checked 280,497 vehicles, recovering 49 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. Under the road safety campaign, 63,655 e-challans were issued for traffic violations. Under axle load management, 32,000 overloaded vehicles were challaned, offloaded, and subjected to legal action. An amount of 26.5 million rupees was collected in fines. Legal action was taken against 262 vehicles for the illegal use of gas cylinders. For the convenience of citizens, 2350 driving licenses were issued. Eleven missing children were reunited with their parents, 679 temporary and permanent encroachments were removed to improve traffic flow, and 2022 passengers were provided various types of assistance and guidance. Additionally, 1202 citizens received various services at police khidmat centers. Twenty-one cases were registered for illegal weapons, and 460 liters of alcohol were recovered from drug dealers. 99.7% of citizens expressed positive feedback regarding the performance of the Punjab Highway Patrol. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar praised PHP for their excellent performance and encouraged them to continue working diligently and sincerely to ensure smooth traffic flow and the service and protection of citizens.
