On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, a new phase of 01 thousand departmental promotions has started in Punjab Highway Patrol, in the first phase of which 18 ASIs have been promoted to the post of sub-inspectors. A rank pinning ceremony for the newly promoted Sub-Inspectors was held at the Central Police Office, in which IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, along with senior officers, pinned the ranks on the officers. The families of the promoted Sub-Inspectors were also specially attended the ceremony.IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that 1,000 personnel in PHP are being promoted in different phases, 250 ASIs and 500 Head Constables will be promoted. Additionally, 250 personnel will be promoted through the P-Cadet system. Dr. Usman Anwar said that to overcome personnel shortage in PHP, new recruitments are underway, vehicles, modern technology, and new resources have been provided, PHP force is also being equipped with bulletproof jackets, thermal imaging quad copters, and other advanced resources. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar mentioned that in the past 1.5 years, PHP has arrested 40,000 proclaimed offenders, recovered 7,000 stolen vehicles, issued driving licenses to 143,000 citizens, and provided driving training to 7,000 citizens. IG Punjab praised that PHP’s axle load management system is being followed by other provincial police forces. He mentioned that over 3,400 promotions have been given according to merit in PHP in the past 1.5 years. IG Punjab said that the 100 Inspector seats have approved, 50% of the force is benefiting from the new service and promotion structure. Police khidmat centers at PHP’s 360 checkpoints across the province have provided policing services to over 50,000 citizens. IG Punjab directed that PHP should continue to perform duties with the same enthusiasm, there will be no reduction in motivation. Among those promoted from ASI to Sub-Inspector are 5 from Lahore, 3 each from Gujranwala, Faisalabad, and Multan, 2 from Bahawalpur, and 1 each from DG Khan and Sargodha. The ceremony was also attended by Additional IG Punjab, Additional IG PHP Abdul Karim, DIG Dr. Athar Waheed, AIG Discipline, SP Headquarters Mansoor Qamar, and other officers.
