Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar is committed and actively working towards the welfare of the families of police martyrs. In this regard, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has provided a personal home to the family of another police officer who sacrificed his life in the line of duty. According to details, the family of Sub-Inspector Rizwan Mehmood, who was martyred in Dera Ghazi Khan, has been given a house worth 17.5 million rupees. The house, located in Garden Town, Moza Gadai, Dera Ghazi Khan was purchased with all amenities on a plot of 5.5 marlas, as per the family’s preference. Sub-Inspector Rizwan Mehmood laid down his life on November 11, 2023, while bravely confronting notorious bandits within the jurisdiction of Kot Mubarak police station. His family, consisting of his wife, two sons, and two daughters, will now live in the new home.On the special initiative of IG Punjab, the Punjab government has released funds for the martyr’s family’s home. Dr. Usman Anwar paid rich tribute to the unparalleled sacrifice of Rizwan Mehmood. He said that the sub-inspector bravely faced dangerous criminals without regard for his own life, and Punjab Police will never forget the sacrifice of their brave son. Dr. Usman Anwar said that the Punjab Police is a guardian force of more than 1,600 martyrs and 1,700 Ghazis, and every possible effort will continue for the welfare of the families of martyrs and Ghazis.
