International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Punjab Police actively working for the best Welfare of Special Children of Its Employees.

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, in his message, said that Punjab Police remains dedicated to the welfare and well-being of the special children of its employees. He highlighted the ongoing efforts to ensure the best care, treatment, and rehabilitation for these children. IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, said that the Punjab Police is committed to making the lives of police employees’ special children easier and more dignified. This year alone, more than 11.76 crore rupees have been released for the treatment of special children of Lahore Police employees and those posted in various districts.  Dr. Usman Anwar mentioned that 157 children suffering from thalassemia were provided monthly medical assistance of 15,000 rupees, totaling 2 crore 29 lakh 5 thousand rupees for their treatment. Additionally, 616 children affected by cerebral palsy received monthly financial support of 10,000 rupees, with a total of 5 crore 17 lakh rupees allocated for their treatment.  He further said that 15 children underwent cochlear implant surgeries, with a total expenditure of 2 crore 22 lakh 60 thousand rupees. Another 51 children suffering from hearing impairments were provided 26 lakh 71 thousand rupees for their treatment. For children suffering from various severe conditions, an amount exceeding 83 lakh 90 thousand rupees was released for their medical care. 28 children with physical disabilities were provided with wheelchairs, and 17 children requiring major heart and kidney surgeries received 48 lakh 37 thousand rupees.  For 16 children battling cancer and those requiring bone marrow transplants, a total of 49 lakh 47 thousand rupees was allocated for their treatment. Furthermore, 20 special children were awarded scholarships worth 24 lakh 53 thousand rupees. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar affirmed that the police department will continue to take further steps to improve the welfare of its personnel and their families, ensuring the best possible care and support for special children.
