Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, continues to prioritize the health welfare of officers injured on duty in 2025. In this regard, the Compensation Award Committee has approved an additional Rs. 3.6 million for their medical expenses.Providing details, Punjab Police Spokesperson shared that Rs. 1.5 million has been released for the treatment of injured SP Farooq Ahmed Bhutta of PHP Gujranwala. Constable Azhar Iqbal of Rahim Yar Khan and Constable Zahid Rafiq of Sargodha have each been allocated Rs. 500,000 for their medical expenses.Additionally, Rs. 300,000 each has been allocated for Constable Saif Ullah of Mianwali, Constable Imran Ali of Sargodha, and Constable Umar Wadda of Rahim Yar Khan for their treatment. Head Constable Muzammil Hussain of Rawalpindi has been granted Rs. 200,000 for medical care. Punjab Police Spokesperson further said that funds were released after thorough scrutiny of cases and documents received from across the province by the committee, led by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Irshad. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has directed that initiatives for the health welfare of police personnel injured in the line of duty continue throughout the year. He emphasized that no effort should be spared in ensuring the swift recovery and best medical treatment for the “Ghazis” (brave officers) injured while performing their duties.
