PESHAWAR: Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has expressed severe concern over rise in incidents of target killing, kidnapping for ransom and overall deteriorating law and order situation in KP and particularly in Malakand division.
Addressing a press concern at Markaz-e-Islami where he held the PTI provincial government direct responsible to the security crisis, he said the federal government of 13 political parties and security establishment were also seemed non-serious in providing protection to the masses.
If the rulers shifted the blame on Taliban, then it was also the government’s responsibility to settle issues with them, he said.
“People want peace,” he said, reminding the governments the elders and jirga leadersin KP provided full cooperation to rulers in peace dialogue process with Taliban.
He said people of KP received phone calls for ransom on daily basis. They were unable to open their business and send their children to schools, he regretted.
Sirajul Haq warned the government the JI will hold protest demonstrations in front of Governor House and CM Hose if the rulers had not provided protection to the masses.
The JI chief also announced to challenge the inclusion of different taxes in electricity bills in the court. He asked the government stop looting people on the direction of the IMF.
What was justification of sending TV fee, income tax, GST and other taxes in shape of electricity bills, he questioned, saying this was sheer injustice and the JI would never accept it. He said the JI would continue struggle for the rights of masses.
Sirajul Haq said the US had long been making interference into the domestic matters of Pakistan and it was due to weak and fragile system. He said the country needed Islamic system and only the JI had capability to introduce Quran and Sunnah based system in the country.
He appealed to the people to back the JI struggle for it. Earlier, he presided over a meeting of districts emirs of Malakand Division. KP chapter emir Professor Ibrahim, MNA Abdul Akbar Chitrali and MPA Anayatullah Khan also participated.
