Lahore:The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore Zone has intensified its operations against human trafficking and visa fraud, as a result of which two key suspects were arrested. An FIA spokesperson said that targeted operations were conducted in Lahore and Kasur, as a result of which two suspects, Zahid Mustafa and Amjad Bhatti, were arrested. According to reports, the wanted fugitive suspect Zahid Mustafa was arrested on charges of embezzling a total of Rs 3.99 million by promising a fake Canadian job. The suspect was absconding since 2024, against whom a case was registered in the Lahore Anti-Human Trafficking Circle. While Amjad Bhatti ran a fake employment scheme, deceiving several citizens with fake promises of jobs abroad. During the raid, officials recovered several Pakistani passports and fake Spanish passports from his possession. None of them could provide a correct explanation of these documents. During the investigation, both the accused revealed that they had illegally obtained passports from citizens but failed to send people abroad. After taking a large amount of money, they went into hiding to avoid the authorities. The director of the Federal Investigation Agency Lahore zone confirmed that operations against human smugglers have been intensified, contacts with the victims are ongoing. The international network of human smuggling will be completely dismantled.
