Addressing a public gathering in Narowal, she remarked that despite efforts to sideline Nawaz Sharif, his party remains in power—with his brother leading the federal government and his daughter heading Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz asserted that under Nawaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan has overcome its economic challenges. “Apart from Adiala Jail, positive news is emerging from everywhere,” she said, pledging to continue working tirelessly to transform people’s lives.

Questioning past predictions of economic collapse, she said, “Where is the Pakistan that was supposedly on the brink of default?”

Criticizing the PTI government, she claimed that stock markets crashed and terrorism resurged under Imran Khan’s tenure. In contrast, she said, the economic situation has improved significantly, with inflation dropping from 38% to 5%.

Referring to alleged corruption during PTI’s rule, she remarked, “Nothing could be done in the province without bribery.”

The Punjab Chief Minister highlighted her administration’s efforts over the past year, stating that Punjab has been cleaned up, and the price of bread has been reduced from Rs 25 to Rs 12-13.

She further announced initiatives aimed at lower-income groups, including housing loans for the needy and the distribution of Kisan Cards for farmers and Himmat Cards for persons with disabilities.

She also pledged to increase scholarships to 50,000 and announced plans to distribute 100,000 laptops soon.
