Sialkot – The Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Ikram-ul-Haq expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and his cabinet for their efforts in addressing the challenges faced by the country’s industry and the people. He highlighted that as a result of their work, the price of electricity was reduced by Rs7.59 per unit for industrial consumers and Rs7.41 per unit for domestic consumers. Ikram-ul-Haq further emphasised that the provision of affordable electricity for the export industry has long been a key demand of the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce. He also extended thanks to the Patron-in-Chief of the United Business Group, Ahsan Tanveer, Chairman of the FPCCI Economic Policy and Business Development Think Tank, Dr Gohar Ijaz, and the broader business community of Pakistan for their unwavering support in Sialkot Chamber’s efforts to reduce electricity prices. The Chairman of the Democratic Group of the Chamber of Commerce, Sohail Khawar Mir, alongwith former presidents of the Chamber Tahir Majeed Kapoor and Abdul Ghafoor Malik, Chairman of the Leather Garments Association Abrar Hussain, former Chairman of the Sports Goods Association Malik Zulfiqar, former Chairman of Sialkot Airport Khawaja Khawar, Malik Ashraf, Chairman of the Surgical Association Zeeshan Tariq, CEO of Air Sial Amin Ahsan, and Junaid Shahid, all expressed that the reduction in electricity prices would lower production costs for products manufactured by Sialkot’s export industry. This, they noted, would enhance the industry’s competitiveness in global markets, increase profits, and contribute to a rise in the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
