LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman, is continuing the mission to rehabilitate hearing-impaired children of police employees. In continuation of this effort, he has issued funds amounting to Rs. 11.62 million for the cochlear implant surgeries of 07 more children of police employees. IG Punjab said that successful cochlear implant surgeries have already been conducted for 34 children of police employees. Through cochlear implant surgery, special children will be able to hear in a normal way and gradually begin to speak. The surgeries of all seven children will be conducted at Evercare Hospital Lahore. So far, a total of Rs. 71.72 million has been issued for cochlear implant surgeries. Punjab Police Spokesperson, while providing details, said that Rs. 1.66 million per child has been issued for the cochlear implant surgeries of the 1-year-old daughter of Corporal Tahir Umar, the 2-year-old son of Constable Sarfraz Ahmad, the 2-year-old daughter of Security Constable Rawal Mumtaz, the 4-year-old daughter of Naib Qasid Muhammad Imran, the 2-year-old son of ASI Sami Ullah, the 2-year-old son of Lady PSA Afshan Maqsood, and the 5-year-old son of Constable Muhammad Asif.
