A case of alleged embezzlement of Rs 1.64 billion has come to light in Rawalpindi Development Authority, after which the DG RDA has written a letter to Anti-Corruption Punjab for investigation.The RDA letter states that according to the National Bank branch, funds were transferred through 263 transactions in 22 accounts. All the concerned banks were stopped from transferring funds through cheques and pay orders. The embezzlement of Rs 1.64 billion in Rawalpindi Development Authority came to light through the report of AD Finance II. After the report, investigations were conducted against the former and current Director Admin and Finance, but none of them provided answers to the questionnaires. The suicide of the former Deputy Director Finance proved that the original CDR does not exist. Through the letter, the Anti-Corruption Department Punjab has been asked to register a case against RDA officers and National Bank staff and conduct an investigation. Rs 1.64 billion should be recovered from the accused and returned to the department.
