Islamabad: DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq has directed that all officers should crack down on notorious criminals and organized crime groups involved in serious crimes. Patrolling and emergency response units should make patrolling more effective in all areas of the city. Protecting the lives and property of citizens and providing them with every facility is our top priority. According to details, a high-level meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq regarding crime prevention and Muharram-ul-Haram. The meeting was attended by SSP Investigation, SSA Operations Islamabad, Zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs. On this occasion, DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq gave instructions to all officers that a full crackdown should be carried out against criminal elements along with further improving the security of the city. All officers should arrest notorious criminals involved in serious crimes and criminals with previous records. Ensure security, make patrolling more effective and purposeful, every officer should be visible in the field, crack down on members of active groups, take more legal action against the accused involved in displaying weapons, firing in the air and selling drugs, he added, adding that all patrolling units, Dolphin, Ababeel and Emergency Response Units should make patrolling more effective in all areas of the city, use all resources to prevent crimes, all officers should meet with the administrators of Imambargahs to ensure adequate security arrangements during Muharram and strengthen mutual communication, play their role to establish a foolproof security and better atmosphere of peace and order during Muharram, to provide full protection to the gatherings and processions of the devotees during the holy days of Muharram. Concrete steps should be taken, DIG Islamabad further said that protecting the lives and property of citizens and providing them with every possible facility is our top priority. The first duty of Islamabad Police is to protect the lives and property of citizens and also maintain an atmosphere of peace and order in the city.
