ISLAMABAD: Islamabad is set to witness the launch of the country’s first-ever modern police hospital, as construction of the 252-bed facility nears completion. The hospital, being built at a cost of Rs 6.4 billion, is expected to become operational by December this year.Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the under-construction National Police Hospital at Police Headquarters and inspected ongoing work.He issued necessary directives to ensure timely completion and full operational readiness.“This project was initiated by Ahsan Iqbal, and by the grace of God, I will ensure it is completed,” said Naqvi during his visit. He emphasized that all resources should be utilized to make the hospital functional as soon as possible.Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Ali Nasir Rizvi, briefed the minister on the project’s progress.According to the briefing, the grey structure of the hospital has already been completed. In addition to the hospital, an institute is also being set up to train over 500 nurses.DIG Islamabad Police Ali Raza and other relevant officials were also present during the visit. Naqvi stressed on accelerating the finishing work and making the facility a model of healthcare for police personnel across the country.
