ISLAMABAD:Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Muhammad Jawad Tariq, visited the I-10 sector on Tuesday to inspect the security arrangements for the Muharram procession from Imambargah Moosa Kazim.An official told APP on Tuesday that the DIG assessed security along the procession route and within the premises of the Imambargah. He was accompanied by zonal SPs and SHOs during the visit as part of Islamabad Police’s ongoing efforts to ensure foolproof security during the holy month.DIG Tariq said all officers deployed for Muharram duty must remain on high alert and maintain strict vigilance throughout the processions. He directed that procession routes be fully cordoned off, and sufficient lighting arrangements be ensured along the way.The DIG said Islamabad Police is committed to implementing the security SOPs devised for processions and religious gatherings, adding that peace and inter-sectarian harmony will be preserved in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police.He said special emphasis is being placed on fostering religious tolerance and unity among all schools of thought, ensuring a peaceful environment across the federal capital throughout Muharram.
