Islamabad! The footpaths alongside Islamabad’s Blue Area, the capital’s premier commercial zone, have become a serious hazard for pedestrians and business activity alike due to ongoing excavation work and lack of sand filling. Rainwater has accumulated in the dug-up areas, making movement difficult for citizens and affecting trade in the area.Despite several days passing, the Roads and Markets Maintenance Division of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has failed to take corrective measures. The footpaths remain in a broken and neglected state, with no proper drainage or sand filling completed.According to sources, officials from the Roads and Markets Maintenance Division have shown negligence in fulfilling their responsibilities, resulting in worsening conditions in one of Islamabad’s most important commercial zones.The business community has urged the CDA Chairman to take immediate action to restore the damaged footpaths and ensure proper drainage, while also holding negligent officials accountable.When contacted for the official stance, CDA’s Media Director declined to comment on the matter.
