Editor Report
Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has directed the District Police Officers (DPOs) of the affected districts, including Lahore, to remain on high alert in view of the flood situation across various districts. He emphasized that full assistance should be provided to rescue departments in case of any emergency in low-lying areas across the province, and residents of the affected areas should be immediately shifted to safe locations. He said that the Punjab Police is ensuring the protection of life and properties of citizens in flood-hit areas, while comprehensive security and other facilities are being provided at relief camps. IG Punjab further said that the Punjab Police is also fully cooperating in the provision of food, clean drinking water, and medicines to citizens. Punjab Police is maintaining effective coordination with PDMA, district administration, rescue services, and other security agencies, and is working shoulder to shoulder with other institutions in rescue, relief, and rehabilitation activities for flood victims. IG Punjab has instructed RPOs, DPOs, and supervisory officers to personally supervise rescue and relief operations in flood-affected areas.
