Lahore:Punjab Police’s Search, sweep and combing operations are ongoing across the province, including Lahore. As part of this ongoing crackdown, 532 combing operations were conducted in the last 24 hours. During these operations, 17,233 suspicious individuals were checked, while 32 suspects were taken into custody. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that during 23 search and sweep operations, more than 2,568 individuals were interrogated and 02 suspects were taken into custody. In addition, 323 proclaimed offenders involved in heinous crimes, 115 court absconders, and 81 habitual criminals were also arrested. A large quantity of illegal weapons and ammunition was recovered from the possession of criminal and suspicious individuals. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 10 criminals were brought to justice during the operations, while 03 were arrested in injured condition. IG Punjab directed that the series of search, sweep and combing operations will continue in order to hold anti-state and criminal elements accountable.
