Punjab Police Continues Welfare Initiatives for Force and Their Families.

Lahore:Inspector General of Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar continues to take initiatives for the welfare of the police force and their families. In continuation of these efforts, more than Rs. 1.64 billion have been spent on police welfare during the current year. According to details shared by the spokesperson of Punjab Police, the department is spending over Rs. 10 million daily on the welfare of its employees and their families. An amount of more than Rs. 514.7 million has been disbursed as educational scholarships for the children of police personnel. Similarly, Rs. 460.5 million were provided as wedding gifts for the marriages of police employees’ daughters. Over Rs. 245 million have been spent to assist with medical treatment facilities. The spokesperson further added that more than Rs. 220 million were released under retirement grants, while over Rs. 141.5 million were provided to the families of police officials under subsistence allowance. Over Rs. 50 million were given to families to cover funeral expenses, and more than Rs. 14.8 million were released as immediate financial assistance for the force. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that the income generated through the Police Welfare Fund and other welfare sources is being utilized to resolve the problems faced by the force and their families.
