PESHAWAR:In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the fight against terrorism continues relentlessly as the province has witnessed the loss of 298 precious lives during the first 295 days of this year.According to a report released by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) the other day, 117 police personnel and 181 civilians have been martyred in various terrorist attacks across the province, while 486 people sustained injuries.The report further reveals that 2,366 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) were conducted during the year, resulting in the arrest of 1,124 militants and the killing of 368 terrorists. In addition, 6,181 suspects have been nominated in different terrorism-related cases.Efforts against extortion also remain ongoing, with 1,287 cases registered this year. Of these, 209 suspects were named and 52 arrests were made.These figures highlight the unwavering commitment and sacrifices of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and other law enforcement agencies who continue to stand at the frontline in the war against terrorism. The sacrifices of both the security forces and civilians remain an integral part of Pakistan’s ongoing struggle for lasting peace in the region.
