KARACHI, Aug 27 (NNI): Making it clear that the country could not be governed through force, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General and former federal minister Asad Umar said on Saturday all that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra wanted from the Center was his province’s right.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said that Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismael thought that he was a viceroy. “Truth of the matter is that Miftah has failed to fulfill his responsibilities,” he said, adding, “It is because of his ‘incompetence’ that Pakistan has failed to strike a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).”
“So much so that now even former prime minister and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif is not pleased with his performance,” Asad said, and added, “And now in order to hush up his failures, the federal minister is trying to put the blame on the PTI.”
He went on to add that it was unfortunate that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had issued him, former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan and party leader Fawad Chaudhry contempt of court notices despite the fact that the ECP was not a court of law. “But we have filed a petition against these notices,” he informed.
PTI leader said that although the situation with respect to floods in the country was quite worrying. “Still the heartening thing is that the nation jells together in crises like these,” he opined.
He said that the PTI chairman had directed the party leaders and workers to go to their areas and helped those affected by floods. NNI
