Alkhidmat dispatches 25th consignment of relief supplies

KARACHI, Sep 23 (NNI): Alkhidmat Karachi has dispatched its 25th consignment of aid package as part of its flood relief operation which is continuing in full swing.
Dozens of trucks, each carrying not less than eight tons of supplies including dry rations, flour, canned food, biscuits, water bottles, tents, blankets, mosquito nets, medicine, clothes, footwear, cooking vessels and other necessities have left for flood-hit areas in Sindh and Balochistan such as Sukkur, Jacobabad, Shahdadpur, Nawabshah, Larkana, Jhaddo, Sakrand and others.
Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman personally supervised the dispatch operation and also visited the supplies warehouse where he was briefed about the activities done there. Present on the occasion were Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi Rashid Qureishi, Chaudhary Tanveer, Malik Hanif and other senior Alkhidmat officials. Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman lauded the business community’s spirit of sacrifice and contribution of dozens of trucks full of provisions for flood victims in South Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan.
He mentioned Alkhidmat’s establishment of relief camps, tent cities, central kitchens and medical camps in many affected areas as well as the supply of cooked food and drinking water to flood victims in large quantities. He added that around seven hundred thousand women were expecting in these flood-hit areas and facing severe health challenges. NNI
