ISLAMABAD, Nov 02 (NNI): Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Athar Minallah has said that there is a need for overhauling the 70-year-old judicial system of the country.
Speaking at a ceremony in Islamabad on Wednesday, Chief Justice Athar Minallah said that the buildings will be useless if justice will not be served to the people. “The real test of the judiciary is how much people trust us,” he said, adding that we have to restore that trust.
He further stated that our main goal is to change our system, in which every citizen gets cheap and quick justice. However, he acknowledged that it is not possible to bring change to the system overnight or with a magic wand.
He said that judges and the judiciary are not afraid of fair criticism because it leads to improvement. NNI
