LAHORE, Nov 05 (NNI): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati claimed Saturday that his personal videos with his wife were leaked to one of his family members from an unknown number.
Addressing a press conference, the senior politician, who recently accused a couple of military men for custodial torture after he was arrested in a case related to provoking tweets against state institutions, broke into tears while revealing the details of the incident.
Swati said that the personal videos were sent to his daughter, adding that the videos were shot when he was visiting Quetta with his wife.
“When a daughter tells her father that this video belongs to you and mother, think what kind of mental stress I had to face,” he questioned.
Swat revealed that Senate chairman Sadiq Sanjrani had made arrangements for his accommodation at the judicial lodges of the Supreme Court in Quetta.
“I was told that no any Supreme Court of Pakistan judge is currently in Quetta and I can stay in the lodges,” he said.
Senator Azam Swati burst into tears before the media saying that his wife had received a video featuring him and her an unknown person, about which he could not share further details because “the daughters of my country are listening.”
He added that his wife called him from Islamabad at around 9pm last night. She kept on shouting and crying, he said, adding that he then had to ask his daughter to speak to his wife and inquire about the matter.
On her insistence, he continued, and his wife revealed that someone had sent her a video of him from an unknown number. “Because the daughters and granddaughters of my country are listening, I cannot say any further.”
Lashing out at the perpetrators, he said that they have started leaking the family videos after they failed to find any corruption and immoral things against him.
Saying the sanctity of husband and wife relations has been violated, he urged the top court to ensure justice in the case. “I cannot commit suicide but I will stay in the country to fight the cruelty,” he said.
The incident has caused a huge stir on the social media and among politicians as people condemned the act and backed Swati in his pursuit for justice and trending top on the social media.
Condemning it, former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday urged the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Umar Ata Bandial to take suo motu notice of alleged “custodial torture” on PTI leader and senator Azam Swati and claim receiving an objectionable video featuring his family.
