LAHORE, Aug 06 (NNI): Fresh monsoon spell lashed parts of Karachi and Lahore on Saturday inundating low-lying areas and disrupting normal life.
Monsoon currents are penetrating in upper parts of the country. A westerly wave is also affecting western and upper parts of the country.
In Karachi, parts of the city received rain spell that started this morning. Met office predicted heavy and stormy rains during the current spell of the monsoon in Karachi. In Lahore, even Lahore Development Authority (LDA) office also inundated due to the rain waters. Many low-lying areas are submerged due to rainwaters. Met office predicted hot and humid weather in most parts of the country on Sunday.
However, rain-wind/thundershower is expected in Kashmir, upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan. Rain-wind/thundershower is expected at few places in lower Sindh and north Balochistan. Isolated heavy falls are also expected in upper Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir during the period. In past 24 hours: Hot and humid weather prevailed in most parts of the country. However, rain-wind/thundershower occurred at scattered places in Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
