– 1st ever Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights to focus child centeric legislation indicate pledge of present Parliament to protect children Says NA Speaker

Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that safeguarding rights of children as enshrined in the Constitution of country is the prime priority of present Parliament .He pledged that no stone would be left unturned to protect each and every child of Pakistan as bright future of the country is dovetailed with the secure present of children. He expressed these views on the occasion of World’s Children day which is celeberated on 20th November each year across the world.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that lifes of more than 16 million children were devastated by flash floods. He said that they were deprived of basic facilities especially health and education sector were worst affected. He said that all efforts were being undertaken to rehabilitate these children lifes.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervez Ashraf also stressed on the need to eliminate child labour, Child harassment, Bonded Labour, and elimination of cases of Child trafiking. He also said that provision of equal opportunities to all children is vital to ensure bright future of the country.
it is pertinent to mention that prioritizing children has been the special concern of Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaz Ashraf as the 1st ever children Assembly Session was held on the occassion of Diamond Jubilee Celeberation in Parliament House. In this session the Children from each segment of society participated and they presented resolution in the House. Subsequently, National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf constituted 1st Parliamentary Caucus for Child Rights In National Assembly with the objective of legislating for provision of basic rights to each and every child. the basic objectives of Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights include Child -Centered legislation , advocacy and Oversight, and strengthening National Commission on Child Rights.
Furthermore, a Unanimous resolution presented by Conevener of Parliamentary Cacus on Child Rights was passed during the session of National Assembly on 18th November 2022. While realizing the challenges faced by children , the House pledged to ensure provision of basic rights, elimination of Child Labour, access to equal opportunities, and above all focusing child centeric legislation.
