ISLAMABAD: Islamabad capital police apprehended six drug peddlers and recovered drugs and weapons with ammunition from their possession, a police public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police intensified crackdown against criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city.
Following the directions, the Kohsar police team arrested an accused namely Khurram Niaz and recovered 1235 gram heroin from his possession. Likewise, Bhara Kahu police team arrested an accused namely Irfan and recovered 2005 gram heroin and one 30 bore pistol from his possession.
Moreover, the Abpara police team arrested a bootlegger namely Rehman Masih and recovered 20 litres of liquor from his possession. Tarnol Police team arrested an accused namely Adeel Ahmed and recovered 1550 gram heroin from his possession. Furthermore, Shahzad Town police team arrested an accused namely Kamal Hussain and recovered 1810 gram hashish from his possession. Sabzi Mandi police arrested an accused Muhammad Umar and recovered 1180 gram hashish from his possession. Cases have been registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway. IGP Islamabad said that, the safety of lives and property of the citizens is our prime responsibility and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard.
