Pakistan and Azerbaijan sign several agreements for cooperation in various sectors

Baku: A number of agreements and memorandums of understanding have been signed between Pakistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan to promote cooperation in various sectors including Oil and Gas, Agriculture, Environmental Protection, Tourism, Education, Science and Technology.

Pakistan and Azerbaijan sign several agreements for cooperation in various sectors including oil and gas, agriculture, science and technology. A number of agreements and memorandums of understanding have been signed between Pakistan and the Republic of Azerbaijan to promote cooperation in various sectors including oil and gas, agriculture, environmental protection, tourism, education, science and technology. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev were also present at the ceremony of signing and exchanging the agreements and MoUs.

According to the details, the Memorandum of Understanding between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO) and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) for cooperation in the Machhi-Thalyan-Taroujba White Oil Pipeline Project was signed by President of SOCAR Roshan Najaf and Director General FWO Abdul Sami and the document was exchanged. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited was signed by Roshan Najaf, President of SOCAR, and Zahid Mir, Managing Director and CEO of Pakistan Refinery Limited. Amendment Agreement No. 1, Master (Ex-ship Delivered) Framework Agreement for the Sale and Purchase of LNG Cargoes was signed by Roshan Najaf, President of SOCAR, and Masood Nabi, Managing Director and CEO of Pakistan LNG Limited. The Memorandum of Understanding between Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) and Sokar Trading and the Acknowledgement Minute of the Term Sale and Purchase Agreement for Petroleum Products between Pakistan State Oil Company Limited and Sokar Trading were signed by Roshan Najaf, President of Sokar Trading, and Syed Muhammad Taha, Managing Director and CEO of Pakistan State Oil Company Limited. The Memorandum of Understanding between Nakhchivan, Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan, and Lahore, city of Lahore on cooperation in various fields of public importance including culture, tourism, urban development, education, science, economy were signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Jeyhun Bayramov. During the visit, Pakistan and Azerbaijan signed MoUs on exchange of preliminary electronic information between customs, cooperation in the agricultural sector and agreements on plant quarantine and protection, scientific research and cooperation, and technical vocational education and training, while a Protocol of Intent on cooperation in environmental protection was signed. Signed. Officials of relevant institutions of both countries signed and exchanged agreements and MoU’s.
