LAHORE, Nov 22 (NNI): Former federal minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry on Tuesday claimed that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and former President Asif Ali Zardari agreed to impose martial law in the country.
Speaking to journalists at Lahore, Fawad said that the preparations for the long march are underway, adding that 35 to 40 thousand people will reach Rawalpindi on Friday night. Imran Khan will announce the future course of action in Rawalpindi, he said.
The PTI leader went on to say that Nawaz Sharif, Asif Zardari agreed that martial law should be imposed in the country.
“If there is any obstacle in the way of martial law, it is PTI. Martial law will not be imposed in the country. There will be snap elections soon,” he added.
Fawad said that the defence minister and the interior minister the defense minister have different statements on the appointment of the army chief. He added that “We want the matter to be resolved without controversy, and we have no favorites, they have made the matter very controversial because all the thieves have come together and consulted.”
Earlier, former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that the only solution to the issues facing the country is free and transparent election and the government that comes with the majority should establish the rule of law.
Addressing a seminar in Karachi through video link on Tuesday, he said that the country’s situation was not good when his party came into power and the biggest his government faced was current account deficit.
He said no government in the past has focused on increasing exports and the situation would have worsened had the Saudi Arabia, China and United Arab Emirates did not help. NNI
