TAXILA: The drugs control wing has busted a gang involved in sale and supply of fake injections utilised in operation theaters and seized the medicines.
Drugs controller Malik Mohammad Arshad while talking to newsmen said the injections of the same batch number was recovered from three different medical stores located in the three different parts of the district.
The official further revealed that the injections of the same batch were also found to be dispatched to the government hospital in Kharian.
Responding to a question, he said the drug called “restane” is used to anesthetize patients before surgery in operation theaters in hospitals which has already been declared fake by the Punjab Drug Testing Laboratory (PDTL).
He said that interestingly the batch of fake injections contained same batch number which was seized during the raid.
He said that during the course of action, two premises were sealed and three different suppliers were challaned and their cases were sent to drugs court for further legal action.
Mr Arshad said that crackdown against the elements supplying fake and substandard drugs would be continued across the district and strict action would be taken against the culprits as per law.
