ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Police has expedited strict action against traffic rules violators and issued 2124 fine tickets to road users over violation of traffic rules during the 24 hours, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad capital police is making renewed efforts to maintain traffic discipline in the city.
Various teams of Islamabad capital police issued 2124 fine tickets over violation of traffic rules during the last 24 hours. Police teams issued 233 challan over lane violation, 52 red signal violations, 13 amateur driving, 68 over violation of one-way, 14 for violation of zebra crossing, 13 vehicles for having pressure horns, 43 for having tinted glasses, 19 for emitting smoke, 12 PSVs for not having fitness certificates, 108 for having fancy number plates, 233 bikers for riding without helmets and 1165 motorists for violation of miscellaneous nature.
