RAWALPINDI: In an operation carried out on June 3, 2023, a clash took place between Pakistani troops and terrorists in the North Waziristan District (NWD).

The Pakistani troops successfully engaged the terrorists’ position, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists and the injury of two others. Additionally, weapons and ammunition were recovered from the deceased terrorists.

Regrettably, during the intense firefight, Naik Zaheer Abbas, aged 38 and a resident of Khushab District, and Lance Naik Mairaj Ud Din, aged 23 and a resident of Dera Ismail Khan District, displayed immense courage and bravery but ultimately lost their lives in the line of duty.

Currently, efforts are underway to thoroughly clear the area and ensure the elimination of any remaining terrorists in the vicinity.

The armed forces of Pakistan remain resolute in their commitment to eradicating the menace of terrorism. The sacrifices made by our brave soldiers only serve to strengthen our determination in this regard.
