Islamabad Till July 31, 2023, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited has increased the production of oil and gas and liquefied petroleum gas by a record. The additional production will save an extraordinary amount of 96 million dollars in the annual domestic imports. Oil production increased by 585 barrels per day from 6 inch diameter pipeline in the field According to OGDCL sources, the company has achieved great success in oil and gas production from several exploration and development wells. These notable achievements of the company are strengthening the energy sector. OGDCL’s notable achievements include the successful performance of Well No. 1 Nam East One. Nam East One well located in Sindh’s Tando Ulyar province, in which ODGCL has 95% stake and Government Holdings Private Limited has 5% stake, has been a resounding success. After laying a 12 and a half kilometer long pipeline of 6 inch diameter, this well is getting an additional production of 585 barrels of crude oil per day, which is 7.4 million cubic feet of gas (mmcfd) and 32 metric tons per day of Li qualified petroleum gas. The gas obtained from this well has been added to the network of Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) from 20 July 2023. Similarly, OGDCL installed Electric Submersible Pumps (ESP) at its 100% owned Pisakhi Oilfield. Pisakhi Oilfield is located in Hyderabad district of Sindh. With the installation of this pump, the production of 1010 barrels of crude oil per day has been started from this well of Pisakhi oil field. The well is currently producing 1810 barrels of crude oil and the well is being monitored to determine flow rates. Additional production from Pisakhi well 2 has started since 28 July 2023. In the journey of success, Chak 1.2 wells located in Sanghar district of Sindh province have shown extraordinary potential with improved strategy. These wells are jointly operated with OGDCL holding 65.2% and Orient Petroleum In Corporation holding 15%. Through additional drilling, crude oil production from the well has increased to 140 ppd gas production 4.7 mmscfd and LPD production to 11 metric tons per day. The gas from Chak 1-2 well has been added to SSGCL’s network from 20 July 2023 and monitored till 28 July 2023. Chak Panch Dum South well located in Chak Five Dum South Block in Sanghar District of Sindh Province has shown excellent results. With 100% working interest of OGDCL, additional production of 130 barrels of crude oil, 3.8 mms of gas CFD and LPD of 8 metric tons per day is being achieved due to new drilling. Sui Southern Gas Company Limited started adding gas to the network on 24th July 2023 and was monitored till 28th July 2023. OGDCL’s additional production by July 2023 will save an extraordinary $96 million in annual domestic imports.
