LAHORE (Staff Reporter) Sui Northern has disconnected 241 more gas connections in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad while continuing its operations against gas theft. In a major operation during crack dawn, a five kilometer long illegal gas network was caught in Mardan area which was disconnected by the regional team. On the other hand, the illegal gas connection was disconnected in the farm house on Bedian Road in Lahore. In Lahore itself, the UFG Task Force took action and disconnected gas connections for using domestic connections for commercial purposes. In other operations, Sui Northern Gas has booked a total of 30 connections for direct use of gas, illegal connections in Peshawar, and gas theft of more than 14 lakhs. In Rawalpindi, the regional team has disconnected 11 gas connections. Also booked an amount of 277,000. 360,000 rupees were booked for gas theft in addition to the disconnection of twenty gas connections for illegal use of gas in Mardan. 21 gas connections were disconnected in Sialkot for illegal use of gas. In Sargodha, 2 connections were disconnected for tampering with gas meters while 11 were disconnected for illegal use. In Gujranwala, the regional team took action and booked more than 150,000 for gas theft in addition to disconnecting 21 gas connections. During operations in Gujarat on illegal use of gas, gas connections of 7 consumers and 2 consumers for use of compressors were disconnected. In the federal capital Islamabad, six connections were disconnected due to direct use of gas. Apart from disconnection of five connections for illegal use of gas in Sahiwal, more than 20,000 was booked for gas theft. In Faisalabad, the regional team booked 140,000 rupees for gas theft besides disconnecting 23 connections during the crackdown. In Lahore, two connections were disconnected for use of compressors, while eleven connections were disconnected for illegal use of gas. Taking action in Bahawalpur, the regional team disconnected 22 connections for use of compressors and three connections for illegal use of gas.
