ISLAMABAD (Staff Reporter) A high-level delegation led by Chief of General Staff of Saudi Armed Forces, General Fayaz bin Hameed Al-Warili, today met the Chief of Pakistan Air Force, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu at Air Headquarters, Islamabad. . Defense cooperation and international strategic situation including important issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting. On the arrival of General Fayaz bin Hameed Al-Rawali, a well armed contingent of Pakistan Air Force presented him with a guard of honour. Later the distinguished guest was introduced to the Principal Staff Officers. During the meeting, the Chief of Air Force mentioned his reality-based policy decisions under which the Air Force will be developed on modern lines through acquisition of modern technologies, up-gradation of infrastructure and restructuring of operational and training domains. The Air Chief said that being the center of the Muslim world and an excellent strategic partner, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have long established religious, cultural and historical ties which are a reflection of the unprecedented bilateral relations between the two countries. He also reiterated his unwavering commitment to further develop the already existing relationship between the two forces in the field of cooperation and training. Highlighting the brotherly relationship between the two countries, the Air Chief said, “Pakistan values its strong diplomatic, economic and defense ties with Saudi Arabia, which are all important issues related to regional peace, security and stability.” The Chief of General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces appreciated the extraordinary progress made by the Pakistan Air Force, especially in the field of self-reliance, and appreciated the professionalism of the personnel of the Pakistan Air Force. . He assured to play his role at all levels to promote existing relations while expressing his desire to strengthen bilateral partnership in various fields including training sector, new emerging technologies and mutual cooperation in aviation industry.
