Islamabad (Staff Reporter) Gas Theft Crack Dawn: Another 208 gas connections were disconnected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad, 1586 under-billing cases were registered/processed and fines of more than 2 crore 16 lakh were imposed under Sui Northern. During the ongoing crackdown against gas theft in the areas, 208 more gas connections were disconnected, 1586 under-billing cases will be registered/processed. Fines of more than 2 crore 16 lakh have been imposed on the people involved in gas theft. Sui Northern Gas has disconnected 18 domestic connections for illegal use of gas, 3 connections for using compressors and registered/processed 1156 under-billing cases, booking an amount of 2.17 million in Bahawalpur. 06 on use of compressor, while 26 disconnection and 35 under-billing cases were processed/registered on illegal use and under-billing of 0.09 million was also booked. 15 and 1 FIR were registered on illegal use of gas in federal capital Islamabad. In Mardan, the team disconnected 09 connections for illegal use of gas and booked an amount of 0.10 million. In Yekhupora, 23 cases were processed/registered for illegal use of gas and tampering with meters, while 56 under-billing cases were processed/registered and 30 lakhs were booked. Additional fines were also imposed. 4 lakh 50 thousand fines were also imposed due to disconnection of 6 connections and under-billing and gas theft for use of compressor in Sialkot. In Sahiwal, 1 connection was disconnected for use of compressor and 3 connections were disconnected for illegal use of gas. In Sargodha, 6 under-billing cases were registered/processed and fines of over 10 lakhs were also imposed in respect of under-billing cases. In Multan, the regional team processed 03 under-billing cases besides disconnecting 14 gas connections for illegal usage and booked an amount of 1 lakh 40 thousand. Sui Northern Gas registered 09 cases of meter tampering, direct use of gas, illegal disconnection of 66 connections and 09 under-billing cases in Peshawar and Kirk. 2 FIRs were also registered against gas theft and fines of Rs 20 lakh were imposed. In Gojjar Anwala, the regional team disconnected 6 connections for illegal use and 07 connections for compressor use.
And 145 under-billing cases registered/processed, 1.59 million booked against gas thieves 2Firs. 05 cases of meter tampering during crack dawn by regional team in Faisalabad while 176 under-billing cases were processed. And during the operation of the team, fines of more than 1 crore 10 lakhs were also imposed in under-billing cases.
