ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani welcomed Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong to his office on Monday for discussions aimed at strengthening the enduring relationship between Pakistan and the People’s Republic of China.
Both ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership, underscoring the enduring nature of the bilateral ties. The meeting delved into various aspects of the bilateral relationship, with a particular focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and economic and financial cooperation between the two nations. Foreign Minister Jilani lauded Vice Foreign Minister Sun for his role in deepening the bonds of friendship between Pakistan and China. The ministers acknowledged China’s consistent support on various international issues. Minister Jilani expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of the CPEC, highlighting its significance for Pakistan’s development. He emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to realizing the full potential of CPEC for mutual benefits.

Vice Foreign Minister Sun, expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality, emphasized China’s unwavering support and referred to the countries as “iron brothers,” highlighting the paramount importance Pakistan holds in China’s foreign policy.
