ISLAMABAD: In a significant diplomatic breakthrough, the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran have reached a mutual agreement for the return of ambassadors to their respective posts by January 26. This announcement comes following a crucial telephone conversation between the two Foreign Ministers, symbolizing a positive turn in their diplomatic relations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) confirmed the consensus between Pakistan and Iran for the return of ambassadors to their diplomatic posts. This move is seen as a tangible step towards normalizing and strengthening bilateral relations.
The telephone conversation between Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani of Pakistan and his Iranian counterpart, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, laid the groundwork for this diplomatic breakthrough. The dialogue reflects a commitment to open communication and understanding.
In a reciprocal gesture, Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani extended an invitation to Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian to visit Pakistan. The Iranian Foreign Minister is set to undertake this diplomatic visit on January 29, 2024, indicating a proactive effort to deepen ties and explore areas of collaboration.
