ISLAMABAD: The Centre for Afghanistan, Middle East and Africa (CAMEA) at the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) represented by its Director, Ms Amina Khan and Avicenna University, Kabul represented by its Head of Board of Founders Dr Zakir Hussain Ershad signed an MOU.Dr Mohammad Zaher Halimi, Vice Chancellor of Avicenna University was also present on the occasion.Ambassador Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Director General Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) briefed him on the working of the Institute and extended his commendation to both sides and hoped that this association would produce quality research and dialogue for mutual benefit.Dr. Zakir Ershad said that Pakistan and Afghanistan are very important countries in the region and friendly ties between these countries are of utmost importance.
He said that the entire team at Avicenna University looks forward to a fruitful partnership with both CAMEA and the Institute as a whole.Ms Amina Khan, Director, CAMEA also spoke at the occasion emphasizing the need for shared responsibility, research and discourse to resolve the various issues that we all face. She hoped that this collaboration would benefit both sides for a better understanding of Afghanistan, Middle East and African region and that this would prove to be a long and fruitful partnership.
