ISLAMABAD: In a significant move, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has removed two of its top officers from their positions within the enforcement wing. The Director General (DG) Shah Jahan Khan Achakzai and Director, Waqas Ali Khan were reportedly implicated in facilitating illegal constructions and encroachments in collaboration with the notorious Qabza mafia. Sources said that new Chairman CDA, Ch Mohammad Ali Randhawa has ordered removal of these officers on receiving intelligence report from the security directorate. Few days ago, the. Chairman had also struck off Director Land from the authority’s strength.

The decision was communicated through an official notification issued by the CDA on Wednesday, under the reference number CDA-4(1)(6)-HRD-1/2022/Sec-1/779. The notification, while lacking explicit reasons for the removal, indicated their involvement in activities detrimental to the authority’s mandate.
One of the officers, identified as Mr. Shah Jehan, belonging to the Office Management Group with a rank of BS-18, was repatriated to his parent department, the Establishment Division, effective immediately. Similarly, Mr. Waqas Ali Khan, also an Officer of the Office Management Group with a BS-18 rank, was relieved of his duties and sent back to the Establishment Division.

The issuance of “NO DEMAND CERTIFICATE” has been requested from all concerned parties regarding both officers, in line with standard procedure. Additionally, the HRD Directorate has been tasked with submitting a charge relinquishment report accordingly.

This decision, made under the approval of the Chairman of the CDA, underscores the authority’s commitment to combatting corruption and ensuring transparency in its operations. It serves as a stern warning to those engaging in illegal activities within the organization, reaffirming the CDA’s dedication to upholding the rule of law and preserving the integrity of the capital’s development.
