ISLAMABAD: In a landmark decision, Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Chaudhary Muhammad Ali Randhawa, has approved the adoption of Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020. This move aims to foster transparent internal accountability and streamline procedures within the authority.
During a pivotal meeting held at the CDA headquarters, the performance of key administrative wings, including Human Resource Development and Discipline Directorate, was thoroughly reviewed. Chairman Randhawa emphasized the significance of implementing a robust punishment and reward system to enhance service delivery and overall employee performance.
The adoption of Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020, is poised to expedite inquiries and disciplinary proceedings, ensuring swift and fair resolutions. Chairman Randhawa underscored the importance of setting clear timelines at every stage of the proceedings and holding inquiry officers accountable for delays.
Underlining the proactive stance of the Discipline Directorate, it was revealed that nearly 60 inquiries have been concluded in the past few months, with 55 new inquiries initiated. Over the past three years, a staggering 998 inquiries and disciplinary proceedings have been concluded, resulting in major penalties for 103 officers and officials.
Of notable significance, the dismissal of the Accounts Officer and Cashier of the Land Payment Section due to their involvement in a fraudulent payment scam underscores the commitment to uphold integrity within the authority. Furthermore, approximately 45 cases related to fraudulent plot allotments have been referred to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for detailed investigation and the initiation of criminal proceedings.
The adoption of Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 2020, marks a pivotal step towards fostering accountability, discipline, and efficiency within the Capital Development Authority, ultimately contributing to the betterment of Islamabad’s development landscape.
