Lahore: Director General Anti-Corruption Punjab Sohail Zafar Chatha has said that transparency, accountability and integrity are the most needed in public service to combat corruption. It is very important to meet the needs of the marginalized sections of society, including women, children, the elderly and minorities. Speaking at a briefing session at the Anti-Corruption Headquarters, he outlined the key measures and policies implemented by the current government against corruption and said that efforts to combat corruption should be taken forward through an institutional framework that advocates a compassionate approach and ensures the protection and development of the most vulnerable groups of society. Real progress in anti-corruption efforts is possible only if all sections of the population are supported and empowered. He expressed his firm commitment to promote a culture of decency and civility in anti-corruption operations and clarified that public institutions should serve the community. When contacted by “Jang”, Sohail Zafar Chatha said that the dialogue inspired the students about their important role in shaping future governance and legal practices. The session aims to nurture a generation of legal professionals dedicated to justice, integrity and social welfare.
